McCauley is one lucky little lamb!
This week we were surprised by a little lamb who desperately needed our help.
He was born in the rain, and rejected by his mum. After a day of no mother ewes accepting him, he was going to be intentionally drowned… but luckily someone stepped in and stopped this from happening. They rushed him to us and asked for help.
Upon arrival this little guy was cold, dehydrated, had very low blood sugar, and was very weak. He had no suckle reflex, and things weren’t looking promising… once we got his temperature up, and provided him with glucogel to boost his blood sugar he started to perk up!
After a while he had a slight suckle reflex and started taking milk from us… what a relief.
He steadily improved throughout the night and has been stronger in himself as every day passes. He is still not out of the woods yet, but we are optimistic about his future!
We are so glad that he was brought to us just in time, saving his life. This little guy is a fighter and deserves the chance to live a beautiful life full of love and compassion… we are so glad he has that opportunity now. Let’s hope he continues to improve!
