Meet one of our amazing volunteers and Happily Heifer After Board member – Kerrith!
“I am one of the 'oldies' of the volunteers - in age, not experience!
I found the Sanctuary after retiring from a career in corrective services, disability and education. From the moment I came for my interview I knew that this is where I wanted to be. I knew instantly that this was an emotionally and ethically safe place.
I have just achieved my second anniversary with the Sanctuary and look forward to more.
I could go on and on about the joy of working with the animals. Nothing is more satisfying than leaving your shift knowing that they all have full bellies, fresh water, and a clean home. And also knowing that tomorrow, and the next day and all days after that they will have the same standard of wonderful care."

"One of the great things about the Sanctuary is who I work for and with. Every day I am in awe of the commitment, knowledge, and kindness of management and volunteers. Working here gives me great hope of the future for animals and society."
Kerrith has been contributing to the smooth running of the Sanctuary for almost two years, organising and managing events, managing repairs and fundraising, and basically doing whatever needs to be done.
A recent addition to our board, Kerrith retired from an impressive career in corrective services and we are very grateful to have an individual of her calibre on our team.
