It warms our hearts here at Happily Heifer After to see the compassion and generosity of our supporters, but even more so when they come in the form of creative children, like Ines.
A little about Ines:
‘My name is Ines and I’m 9 years old. I love all animals. My favourite animals are horses, cows, dogs, rats, birds, impalas and guineas pigs. On the weekends I love playing with my dog Frankie, getting dirty and helping my friend with her guinea pig family.
I wanted to help Happily Heifer After because I really like it and I wanted to help with the animals. I like that you save all animals. I decided to draw the animals so people can know what animals are at Happily Heifer After and so they can support you too’
When Ines’s mum, Jess, first reached out to us in 2022 she let us know that her children were selling drawings to raise money and support our cause. We were touched beyond words. At just 9 years old, Ines set up a table at a garage sale her family was having to sell her beautiful drawings and rock paintings of our animal residents. Over that weekend she raised an incredible $215, all from the art she so lovingly made.
After their family made the move to the Sunshine coast from Melbourne in late 2023, we reached out and invited both Jess and Ines to come and visit! Ines had made such an amazing connection with the animals and she hadn’t even had a chance to meet them yet.
On February, Ines’s dream finally became a reality, as she got to meet all the animals she had been following for years. She knew all the residents names and mentioned that it was one of the best days of her life. She even got to leave her mark by painting a pig on our newly built piggy paradise shelter!
Seeing the next generation stepping up to make a difference fills us with hope for the future. It is a testament to the power of compassion and the impact that even the smallest acts of kindness can have on the world around us. Thank you for being a part of our journey towards a more compassionate world. 🤩❤️🙏🏻
