Animal Justice Awards

Earlier this year, Michelle was nominated for the incredible Voiceless Award for Animal Protection Education thanks to the Animal Justice Foundation. Among the short-listed nominees there was some incredible people, doing amazing work in this field.

Yearly, the award is awarded to an Australian Sanctuary, educator, or influencer who uses educational strategies to raise awareness of or promote critical thinking about animal protection issues.

On the 24th of February, we were lucky enough to head down to Melbourne to be at the awards in person.

We are thrilled to announce that Michelle won this incredible award! This recognition is a testament to the tireless efforts and unwavering commitment that Michelle puts into Happily Heifer After each and every day. We couldn't be more proud of her accomplishments and the positive impact she has had on the lives of the animals that she has crossed paths with.

Here is Michelle's nomination from her peers:

'Michelle is a remarkable individual who has earned her nomination for the Animal Justice Awards through her unwavering dedication to the cause. In this relatively short span of time, Michelle's efforts have resulted in the rescue of 1300 farm animals and successful rehoming of 1200.

Happily Heifer After also provides a forever home for animals facing complex medical needs, advanced age or challenging behaviors. Michelle has personally ensured that the 100 animals at the sanctuary are receiving the care they require. Her compassionate approach not only demonstrates her deep understanding of the diverse needs of farm animals but also reflects her determination to make a difference in their lives.

Michelle's passion for animal rights is the driving force behind her outstanding contribution.
